Verdure tapestries are a genre of European woven textiles originating in Flanders, characterised by scenes centred around dense green foliage, trees, and countryside landscapes. Popular from the 16th through the 18th centuries, these pieces were designed to bring natural elements indoors while providing thermal insulation for stone walls.
