Superb Mid-century Solid Silver Owl Cruet Set by Richard Comyns, London 1961 & 1963

Description

This fabulous cast silver "owl" pepper and salt set was made by the renowned silversmith Richard Comyns in 1961 and 1963. Each cast body with naturalistic plumage and inset with characterful glass eyes. Both with a hallmarked secure pull-off cover. They have an excellent silver gauge and the quality is wonderful. A superb cruet set by the celebrated Comyns family.

Fully hallmarked on each tail.

RC for Richard Comyns.

London Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Pepper with date letter "f" for 1911.

Salt with date letter "h" for 1963.

Inner covers partially hallmarked with Lion Passant and date letters

Excellent.
