Description

A spectacular trophy in the form of a model of a Supermarine S5 seaplane, of Brooklands Concours d’Elegance interest.

Chromium plated, cast metal body mounted on a veined green marble rectangular base.

The inscription on the wings reads: ‘Arial Concours d’Elegance Brooklands 6th June 1931 … 2nd Prize Presented by the College of Aeronautical Engineering Brooklands and Chelsea’.

Approx. wingspan 16cm.

In very good vintage condition, with just a couple of tiny rush spots and the odd light scratch. No chips to the marble base.

Seemingly unsigned.
