Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Norway developed a world-renowned enamel jewellery tradition during the late 19th and mid-20th centuries. Prominent silversmiths perfected the art of engine-turned guilloche metalwork coated with translucent enamel, creating sleek, nature-inspired and modernist designs.

These brooches are typically constructed from high-grade sterling silver (often stamped 925S or 830S) and finished with vitreous enamel. The metallic base features carved or engine-turned patterns that shine through translucent coloured glass enamel.

Authentic pieces carry Norwegian silver purity marks such as 925S or STERLING NORWAY, alongside recognized makers marks. Look for precise guilloche detailing under smooth, undamaged enamel and period-appropriate pin fasteners.

Small vintage jewellery items can be displayed on velvet inserts within framed shadow boxes, arranged in small marble trinket dishes, or styled on vanity trays to add subtle colour and craftsmanship to bedroom interiors.

Store enamel pieces separately to prevent chipping against other metal objects. Clean gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, or submerging in water, which can damage the enamel backing.
