A pair of samplers dated 1892, one by Ethel Wiffen and the other B.A and E.A Wiffen. Both include the full alphabet and numbers, with a rhyme, decorative border and designs, including florals and animals. They are in matching frames and the colours in the wool are nice and bright.
A charming pair of samplers - it is rare to find these as a matched pair.
Condition: The backing fabric is a little discoloured in places and there is a small amount of wear to the frames.
Dimensions: Including the frames, both samplers measure 66cm wide, 43cm tall and 1.5cm deep.
