George I Walnut and feather banded bureau
The feather banded fall front opening to an arrangement of fitted drawers and pigeonholes, flanking a cupboard door, over four graduated drawers raised on bracket feet.
Provenance:
A gift to Mrs F A Simonds by the members of the Reading Women''s Conservative and Unionist Association in December 1926 upon her resignation as Chairman, presented by Lady Abram. A copy of the Reading Home and Politics magazine, December 1926 and a leather bound presentation album are included in the lot. The bureau itself bears a small brass plate in the recess.
