Large Victorian Walnut & Inlaid Jewellery / Sewing Box.

A large Victorian walnut jewellery / sewing box, the top and front edged with geometric parquetry bandings with canted corners. To the top is mother of pearl cartouche surrounded by further decorative inlays with a matching escutcheon to the front.
 
The box opens to reveal the original interior in silver paper with gold silk fabric and an oval mirror to the inside of the lid. The lift out tray reveals a large storage area beneath.
 
The exterior has been cleaned and professionally French polished and the interior is in good clean condition.
 
Note the mottled effect on the mirror is a reflection of the light box interior.
 
With working lock & tasselled key.
