Rare Georgian Harewood & Marquetry Box c. 1800An exceptional George III harewood box with lift up lid & single drawer, beautifully decorated & inlaid with oval panels of exotic timbers & burr woods to all sides. The box is also decorated with flowing marquetry vines, crossbanded with exotic timbers in herringbone pattern & finished off with very fine chequered boxwood & ebony stringing. The box retains its original lock & key which has been serviced & is in full working order. There is a steel pin with a brass ball which slides in beside the lock to secure the bottom drawer. The box has been lined with hand made marbled paper.
