Description

A stunning late Art Deco (1940s) pendant with a step-cut pinkish-purple purple stone set into a solid 14-carat gold mount. The frame, prongs and decorative scrolls are yellow gold, while the rounded accents on each side are rose gold. The pendant is supplied ready to wear on a vintage nine-carat gold chain.

At the time of listing we have a very similar ring, which came to us with the necklace and is believed to originate from the same maker in Vienna. See photos and separate listing.

SIZE: 2 x 1.8cm, or 2.8cm tall including the bail. The chain is approximately 18 inches long.

TOTAL WEIGHT: 4.5g.

MATERIALS: 14-carat gold, paste amethyst. Nine-carat (375) gold chain.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: The pendant and bail bear the horsehead hallmark with a letter W which indicates the piece originates from Vienna in Austria. The chain has UK import stamps for nine-carat gold.

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition.
