Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this French Flintlock Holster Pistol to the 18th Century.
The butt cap, trigger guard and sideplate retain original chased decoration.

French locks and pistols signed “à Paris” were produced by a number of Parisian gunmakers during the late 18th century, often for officers. This example shows the elegant proportions and restrained ornament typical of French work of the Louis XVI period.

Overall length: approx. 44cm (17¼").
Mechanism functions, though as with all antique arms sold as a collector’s item only. Old repair to left side of butt end (see photos). In excellent condition for age & usage.
