An impressive late 17thc /early 18thc pewter flat lidded flagon....it is of a large size with tapering straight sides terminating with a wide flared base....it is dated 1762 with initials ''H.R.'', which are much later than the flagon itself... it is decorated with triple incised rings and clear makers touchmarks on the lid with initials IAR...when you look inside at the base of the flagon , it has a rose of Tudor pattern stamped into the bottom....the hinged lid has an ''open chair'' thumb piece....in excellent condition and from a private collection.
