Description

19th Century Decoupage Box.

The 19th century Rectangular Box, with a hinged lid, opening to an interior lined with marbleized paper, the inside of the lid in mahogany, centred by a geometric oval panel, surrounded by a cross banded border.

The whole decorated in decoupage velum, being opera scores and opera titles, such as Mozarts Le Nozze Di Figaro, La Gazza Ladra by Rossini, Anna Bolena, by Donizetti, amongst coats of arms for the Drury Lane Theatre, and opera scenes.

The box raised on bun feet.

Height 4 3/4 inches, 12cm.

Width 10 1/4 inches, 26cm.

Depth 7 1/4 inches, 18.5cm
