19th Century Anglo-indian / Burmese Carved Cabinet

An exceptional 19th century Anglo Indian hardwood cabinet, profusely hand-carved with intricate open fretwork of scrolling foliage, floral motifs and trailing vines. The central panel finely detailed with exotic birds amidst dense foliage, surmounted by an ornate arched crest featuring entwined peacocks. The side columns adorned with finely carved guardian figures in high relief, symbolising protection and strength. Supported by beautifully carved mythical lion feet.
