Brian MacDonald Antique Rugs & Carpets has dated this piece to the 1900s.
I suspect the purple-pink colour used as highlighting and obvious in the two neck tassels, is an early synthetic dye by the name of fuchsine, which was used sparingly as a bright new colour, from 1870 through until 1900.
