A French (M.vivien) 7 Inch World Globe

1920 - 1940
Description

A good (globe terrestre) small diameter French world globe. Dating fom pre 1935 as it shows Persia which became Iran in 1935. Some age spotting and marks but remarkably undamaged for its age. Shows good detail and has nice colouring. Rotates freely on its axis which has a brass finial to the top and a shaped brass support to the base. Correct wooden buttons to the axis top and base. Ebonized turned wooden base which shows some signs of long gone woodworm.

The maker is M.Vivien de St Martin Paris and is further marked Libraire de Hachette & Cie 77 Boulevard St Germain.

7'' diameter (18cm) and about 38 cm high.
