A very striking Worcester porcelain saucer dish decorated in the Earl Dalhousie style. A blue bordered edge with gilt dentil rim, and over gilded with a chain effect border and stylised arabesque inner edge. Gathered groups of fruit; strawberries, apples, grapes and plums are suspended from delicate floral garlands strung from the outer border. The central reserve, framed with a black and turquoise enamel husk border and gilding, contains a colourful ''fancy bird'' set in an exotic landscape. Butterflies and a ladybird are scattered between the fruit festoons. Unmarked, c.1780.

It measures 16cm (6 5/16'') wide) and 3.5cm (1 3/8'') high.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and only minor handling wear.
