The Fancy Fox has dated this Worcester Porcelain Saucer Dish to the 18th Century.
Gathered groups of fruit; strawberries, apples, grapes and plums are suspended from delicate floral garlands strung from the outer border. The central reserve, framed with a black and turquoise enamel husk border and gilding, contains a colourful "fancy bird" set in an exotic landscape. Butterflies and a ladybird are scattered between the fruit festoons. Unmarked, c.1780.
Provenance: The Crane Collection.
It measures 16cm (6 5/16") wide) and 3.5cm (1 3/8") high.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and only minor handling wear.
