This superb antique curb bracelet is completed with a large plain heart padlock fastening and is modelled in 9ct gold, dating back to the Edwardian era.
 
This bracelet displays hallmarked solid curb links around the chain. It also has hallmarks on the end links, making this piece even more collectable.
 
Padlock bracelets became popular during the Victorian period, they were worn by women whose significant others were leaving for an extended period of time. The bracelet would be locked onto the woman’s wrist by the padlock charm, to which only her beloved would have the key- he would then open it upon his return.
 
This bracelet is a beautiful example of this style, which is in excellent antique condition.
