In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Early 20th-century French terracotta busts often feature naturalistic or Art Deco-influenced modelling, capturing human expression with textured clay surfaces and dark patinas or slips applied to highlight sculptural depth.

Sculptors fashioned these pieces by modelling wet terracotta clay by hand around an internal armature, firing the piece in a kiln, and applying tinted washes or patinas to achieve depth.

Authentic 1930s terracotta sculptures typically show hand-tool marks, artist signatures etched into the soft clay prior to firing, and natural surface wear consistent with age along high-relief areas.

A figurative terracotta bust can be styled as a focal point on a console table, bookshelf, or mantelpiece, where directional lighting emphasises its textured form and sculptural silhouette.

Dust terracotta surfaces gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or horsehair brush, avoiding water or chemical cleansers that can penetrate unglazed clay or damage delicate surface patinas.
