Georgian Copper & Brass Samovar circa 1810
A fine early 19th-century copper and brass hot water urn in the Adam style, dating to around 1810. Of classical urn form, the body is raised on a stepped square brass base and fitted with twin brass ring handles. The domed cover is topped with a knop finial above a pierced collar, and the brass tap retains its dark turned grip.
The interior is tinned and complete with its original central chimney and pierced cover, designed for heating with charcoal or a heated iron insert to keep water hot. The survival of these fittings is a notable feature.
