Georgian Ladderback Armchair C.1780

Description

Lovely late 18th.c. ladderback armchair in ash and fruitwood c.1780. Six shaped fruitwood rungs between turned nipple-top ash stiles. Shaped arms worn to beautiful patina on slim turned supports. Over an unusual board seat (height 16"), note how the front rail is shaped to allow a gentle curve in the seat. Simple turned detail to the front legs and front stretchers. With double spindle stretchers to the sides and rear. Very good condition and superb colour. Presented as found.
