Antique Silver Cigarette Case

1900 - 1920
Description

A good example of a solid silver cigarette case. It has a lovely curved shape so it fits nicely into the palm of your hand. The exterior is beautifully decorated with engraved leaves and foliage across one corner. The case opens on a hinge to an interior with an elastic strap for holding the cigarettes.

It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1902, William Hutton & Sons and it weighs approximately 70g.

It is in very good condition for its age and it has never been engraved. There are some small dinks and minor surface marks and general signs of age and use but no major damages and it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
