Book - Loss of the Royal George

Description

A most interesting book detailing the attempt to raise the ship and later operations in removing the wreck. I believe the outside oak covers are made from ships timbers rescued from the wreck. Both the wooden covers are in excellent condition as is the leather spine. Please study all the photographs.

The Royal George was a 100 gun warship which sank on 29th August 1782 at Spithead off Portsmouth. Loss of life was over 800 making it one of the worst maritime disasters in British waters.
