Description

A fine William IV mahogany writing table with a richly figured top, over a frieze of five drawers arranged around a central kneehole, each retaining its original turned knobs.

The corner blocks are embellished with stylised carved motifs, and the piece is raised on boldly turned and carved legs, all combining the refinement of late Regency design with the emerging boldness of early Victorian taste. The base of the legs are hollowed out to house hidden original, smooth running brass castors.

Presented in excellent antique condition with a rich aged patina and only minor surface wear consistent with age. All drawers run smoothly, the frame is solid and structurally sound. Beautifully clean and ready to place in the home.
