French Louis Xvi Style Gilt Bronze Hanging Pendant Lantern

An impressive late 19th century French gilt bronze antique hanging ceiling pendant lantern of substantial size with frosted and etched glass of ovoid shape, terminating to foliate finial underneath. The lantern has a decorative scrolling leaf rim in relief, finished with pineapple finials and four floral supports, each with ribbon detail to the top. The lantern has a shaped spun brass canopy and is surmounted with acanthus leaf cup.

The light hangs on an adjustable 1 metre chain which can be extended on request and it comes with a brass ceiling rose. The bronze gilt and brass has been cleaned and lacquered to prevent tarnishing, and the light has been rewired and is in working order. There are no chips to the glass.

Height including chain is 174 cm (which can be reduced or extended)
