The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

The hallmarks are partially obscured due to being on the stem and partially rubbed, but they are legible for Dublin 1773 and the maker's initials appear to end with an F, possibly the silversmith unidentified but with the initials W.F, a flatware worker of the early 1770s.

The measure 21.2cm (8 3/8") long and 4.5cm (1 3/4") wide. They weigh 169g / 5.4ozt.
