A Superb Antique English 9ct Gold & Crystal Vanity Set by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1900

Description: A magnificent and complete four-piece antique dressing table set, representing the finest craftsmanship of the renowned Birmingham firm, Levi & Salaman. Created at the turn of the 20th century, this set is a perfect example of the elegant Art Nouveau style.

The set comprises two exquisite jars crafted from high-quality cut crystal, accompanied by two matching manicure tools—a nail file and a cuticle pusher. All four gold components are masterfully wrought from solid 9-carat rose gold, featuring an intricate repoussé floral and scrollwork design characteristic of the era.

About the Maker: Levi & Salaman was founded in Birmingham in 1870 by Phineas Harris Levi and Joseph Wolff Salaman. As one of England's most famous silversmiths and jewellers at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, they were celebrated for their superior quality and design.

Provenance and Hallmarks: To find a complete set where all pieces were made by the same prestigious manufacturer in the same year is a mark of true rarity. Each gold item is clearly and fully hallmarked, guaranteeing its authenticity:

Condition: The set is in excellent antique condition. The crystal is free from chips or cracks. The gold retains its lustre and crisp detail. One lid has a slightly looser fit than the other. One handle bears a small, discreet sign of a professional period repair (solder). The steel implements are held firmly in the handles with no movement.
