Edwardian 1.37 Carat Natural Mogok Burmese Ruby Ring, Circa 1905

1900 - 1920
Description

A spectacular ruby ring. The central stone – certified as natural, unheated and originating from the famous Mogok mines in Myanmar (Burma) – displays a striking purply red with flashes of pink. The stone is secured in an eight claw coronet collet, with fine detailing running down the shoulders of the of the band, to a slim, D-shaped 18k yellow gold shank.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the ruby shows no indications of heating, and is Burmese (Myanmar) in origin, from Mogok.

Cut: Cushion.

Colour: Purplish red.

Clarity: Eye clean.

Carat: 1.37.

Circa: 1905.

Size: H 1/2 (UK) or 4 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements: The ruby is approximately 7.4 x 6.2mm and sits 4.4mm from the finger.

Weight: 2.17 grams.

Metal: 18k gold. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
