A Rare Aesthetic Movement German Silver Mounted Scent Bottle

Description

A rare late 19th Century silver mounted scent bottle in the Aesthetic Movement taste. This gorgeous example is German in origin and has a cylindrical cranberry glass body. Inside the collar is marked and retains the original peg stopper. The silver lid is hexagonal, spot hammered and features a beetle amongst foliage. The top is decorated with a repousse rose and set with a garnet cabochon. Suitable for display standing or layin, this is a wonderful and very unusual collector's piece and a great gift idea.
