In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian vernacular armchairs were constructed by regional country craftsmen during the eighteenth century, using locally sourced hardwoods such as elm, oak, and ash rather than imported mahogany.

These chairs typically feature solid elm seats with shaped contours, mortise and tenon joinery held with wooden pegs, and sturdy stretcher bases for enhanced durability.

Authentic period pieces display hand-planed wood surfaces, uneven wear on the front stretchers from foot placement, natural timber shrinkage over time, and traditional pegged construction.

A historical wooden armchair can serve as an accent chair in an entryway, alongside a minimalist desk, or paired with contemporary neutral upholstery in a living space.

Elm furniture should be dusted regularly with a soft dry cloth and treated periodically with clear beeswax paste, keeping it away from direct heat sources to prevent wood movement.
