Spode Caramanian Series Ewer, C. 1820.

Description

Spode pottery Caramanian series ewer, c. 1820. Printed in underglaze blue with scenes of figures around the ‘Colossal Sarcophagus near Castle Rosso’. The borders with further scenes from the Caramanian series.

Having a simple strap handle, printed with flowers.

Printed SPODE factory mark to the base.

Height – 24 cm, 9 1/2”.

Width – 23 cm, 9”.

Depth – 19 cm, 7 1/2”.

Condition – Some very minor firing faults.

Ex The Maisels Collection.
