A Barr, Flight and Barr Worcester Porcelain covered Tureen & Stand c.1805. Finely decorated all over with a variation of the ''Holly Berry'' pattern, painted with garlands of green leaves and red berries around gilt-scroll brackets, the centre with a puce herringbone band. Both the lid, bowl and stand with a band of applied ''pearls'', the lid with flamiform finial, the bowl with two eagles head handles and classical gilded palmettes.
The ''Holly Berry'' pattern which is similar to the ''Earl Manvers Pattern'', is a member of the ''Hop Trellis'' family of Worcester patterns inspired by Sčvres.
Literature: Worcester Porcelain, 1751-1851, John Sandon, Page 228 and 229. The authors state that this is one of the most elaborate and colourful of the many variations of the ''Hop Trellis'' pattern inspired by Sevres.
Condition: Excellent with just a small chip to the flamiform finial. Original factory marks now erased.
