This lamp stands 54cm tall with a base diameter of 14cm.
At some time in the past this lamp has been converted to electricity and would be a massive amount of work to change back.
The brass has a nice overall patina so it’s been left unpolished.
The weighted base supports a central round pole with a carrying loop at the top. The font, burner and shade assembly moves up and down to the required height using a knurled screw.
Originally fuel in the font would have been gravity fed to the burner by the tube at the bottom of the font through the round central ball to the reservoir underneath a burner.
The lamp has a new 2.1M gold 3 core flex, in line switch, 3 amp fused plug, and earthed large bayonet type bulb holder.
Historicity the lamp has acquired three holes, (now redundant) that may have been the result of electrification, two in the base and one in the central ball.
