Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian furniture, produced between 1901 and 1910, is characterised by lighter, less ornate forms than earlier Victorian pieces. Cabinetry from this era frequently incorporates marquetry inlays, glazed door panels, and neoclassical proportions influenced by 18th-century English designs.

Cabinetmakers during the Edwardian era primarily used mahogany, rosewood, and satinwood. Construction often integrated hand-cut dovetail joints, brass drop handles, floral or geometric marquetry, and glass panels set into wooden mullions.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of period craftsmanship, such as hand-cut drawer joinery, original brass hardware with natural oxidisation, and aged glass with slight surface variations. Inlay work should be flush with the surrounding timber rather than printed or applied as a decal.

Position the cabinet against a neutral wall to highlight the dark wood tones and inlay detailing. The upper glazed section can be used to display ceramics or glassware, while the lower drawers provide functional storage in a hallway, dining room, or home office.

Dust the wooden surfaces regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the grain of the wood, and place the cabinet away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent timber movement or fading.
