Dragon-Antiques.com has dated this French Gilt Bronze Clock to the 1890s.
~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A stunning original antique French gilt bronze clock by the renown maker Japy Frères.
To the sides are classical relief panels, and the whole raised on a plinth base with acanthus scroll feet.

The dial is also gilt bronze with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands. Beneath the dial is a draped swag.
The French movement is by Japy Frères and is of the company's usual high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled and tested by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send it to you.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with some slight wear and discolouration. Dial is also excellent with just some slight nibbles to the winding holes and an occasional mark. The rear door is very slight distorted.
