An extraordinarily rare early 18th Century Bureau made from the most wonderful and for the most part solid Burr Elm, remarkably including the original feet. With a Glorious glowing colour and patina throughout.
Having a fitted interior with a sliding well and an exterior arrangement of two dummy drawers above three long drawers with contrasting dark wood stringing. All original pine drawer linings with original red wash, one drawer later fitted with removable partitions. The handles are good period examples but not the original to the piece. Fitted with working Georgian keys to the fall front and interior door.
A very beautiful and striking piece of English country furniture.
