Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The feet terminate in good quality solid brass Cope & Collinson casters, which are in good order. The mahogany frame has a good warm patina and is inlaid with satinwood stringing in a Sheraton revival design. The traditional horsehair upholstery is sound and has been newly recovered, the frame very solid and sturdy. Stamped with an “FF” monogram to the underside of the frame.
