Description

A good quality pair of antique Chinese carved hardwood figures with wire inlay, dating from circa 1900. These figures are Taoist immortals each crisply carved with good details and standing on carved rockwork bases, inlaid throughout with pewter wire. Showing a good desirable warm colour and patina. Such figures were often placed on home altars in Taoist practices to invoke blessings, summon positive energy, and ward off negative influences.

Good original colour and patina. Both showing signs of shrinkage from age, with various old Splits (solid). An old mend to the sword of one immortal.
