Victorian Papier-Mâché Tray with Mother-of-Pearl Inlay
A striking papier-mâché tray from the 19th century.
The dished centre features a vibrant hand-painted floral design with exquisite mother-of-pearl inlay, set against a lacquered black background. The surrounding border is finished with a scalloped edge and scrolling foliage detail.
Beyond its function as a serving tray, it can also be styled as an ornamental piece — leant upon a shelf or mantel, used as a tabletop centrepiece, or mounted on the wall as a focal point.
Width 79 cm x Depth 60 cm x Height 2 cm
In good antique condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use to include some fading and scratches to the painted details.
