A Lovely Edwardian Silver Novelty Stamp Case

A lovely item of novelty Edwardian silver. A hallmarked silver stamp case with an attaching ring for a fob or chatelaine. The body is formed to represent a book, with engraved and gilded 'pages' to the top, bottom and sides. The front and back are engraved with floral and foliar patterns and there is a central vacant cartouche. The interior slides open on a pivot and is fully gilded. These novelty items are widely collected and this is a lovely and unusual example. Dimensions below.
