George III Walnut and ebony inlaid stick barometer. The silvered dial signed by highly regarded maker J. Bleuler, London, with a single adjustable vernier above a feather banded case and turned cistern cover.
John Bleuler [1756-1829] was apprenticed to the eminent instrument maker, Henry Shuttleworth in 1771, then worked independently from 1791 until 1822, making a wide range of high quality optical and mathematical instruments.
The barometer is in remarkably good condition and in full working order.
