Description

This beautiful bag, which has just arrived from Iran, was used entirely for containing wooden spoons which were used in the cooking process.

Woven in fine overlay/underlay brocading technique on the face and back, this stunning bag was made by a Kashkuli woman within the Qashqa'i confederacy around 1900. The bag is in excellent condition for its age with the selvedges overbound in different colour wool in barber-pole style!

Size: 52cm x 34cm (1' 8" x 1' 1") ex. tassels.
