Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco overlay cut glass refers to decorative glassware created during the 1920s and 1930s using a cased glass technique, where a thin layer of coloured glass is fused over clear lead crystal and subsequently cut away to reveal geometric patterns.

Ruby cut-to-clear crystal is produced by dipping a gather of clear molten crystal into a layer of red-coloured glass before blowing the vessel into shape. Once cooled, lapidary artisans use abrasive wheels to carve geometric facets through the red outer casing to expose the clear layer beneath.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit high structural weight, high refractive index, polished wheel-cut geometric edges rather than moulded seams, and may feature etched maker marks or acid-stamped signatures near the base.

Position the vase in locations with direct or accent lighting, such as a sideboard top, mantelpiece, or deep window sill, allowing ambient light to pass through the clear cutouts and highlight the rich ruby tones against neutral backdrops.

Wash the item by hand using lukewarm water, a non-abrasive sponge, and mild detergent. Avoid dishwasher usage, sudden temperature shifts, and harsh chemical cleaners to prevent clouding or thermal shock fracture.
