Fabulous antique oil lamp standing 63cm tall overall.
The lamp has a brass footed pedestal base upon which is mounted a hard paste porcelain lidded urn shaped lamp.
The main body of the lamp is cream with a Celeste bleu foot, rim and lid. The lamp is prettily decorated with a Persian style pattern in soft pink, gold, cornflower blue and black very much in the aesthetic style, colours and stylised designs that Chrisopher Dresser produced for Minton and Linthorpe in the late 19th century. This lamp is unmarked aside from an scratched monogram mark to the underside of the font (as per final picture)
The lamp is fitted with a lugged brass collar into which a “Hinks & Sons Patented” duplex burner marked to the wick winders for the retailer “Henry Greene & Son, London”.
Unusually the ‘Hinks’ stamp is off to one side of the burner rather than on the central bridge, and no stamp to the collar so I assume it’s an early model.
The burner has an integrated gallery, a chimney, some
...wick remaining and the wick winders turn smoothly.
The lamp is completed with an antique globe shaped shade acid etched with a pattern of stylised shells and birds.

Amateur repair to chip in the lid
Retouch of gilt wear to lid
