Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the eighteenth century, copperplate engraving was the primary method for producing detailed maps and illustrations. Printmakers incised designs into copper sheets, which were then inked and pressed onto handmade paper to create precise geographical and historical records.

Georgian prints were created using heavy linen-rag paper, oil-based printing inks, and hand-applied watercolour washes for coloration. The copper plates allowed for fine, sharp lines that retained detail across multiple impressions.

Authentic period engravings display a distinct plate mark impression around the image perimeter caused by the printing press pressure. Additionally, handmade paper from this era typically features laid lines, watermarks, and uneven edges rather than modern machine-cut finishes.

These works can be mounted in contemporary acid-free frames with thin wood borders and arranged as a gallery grouping on a neutral wall. Combining historical cartography with minimalist modern furniture creates a balanced, curated interior aesthetic.

Paper prints must be framed using UV-filtering glass and acid-free museum-grade mounting boards to prevent yellowing and degradation. Keep them in a climate-controlled environment away from direct sunlight, dampness, and heat sources.
