An exceptional late 18th / early 19th century Qing dynasty Chinese low table or daybed, finely crafted from elm and with rattan-covered solid elm top. The table features a rectangular well-proportioned frame, raised on cabriole legs terminating in inward scroll feet. The apron is beautifully carved with a classic key-fret motif, centred by a finely carved floral medallion.This piece displays refined simplicity characteristic of Qing dynasty furniture, combined with sturdy construction suitable for everyday use. The table has developed a rich, warm patina, enhanced by centuries of gentle wear.
