The box is made of Bronze and incredibly retains it's wonderful gilded finish, really excellent for it's age as these are normally worn. The exterior is beautifully decorated with engraving with a cartouche to the top, with the initials M G P and dated April 20, 1865.
The catch is in perfect working condition with the push button opening the lid and snapping shut perfectly. The two crystal scent bottles within are also in near perfect condition with gilded tops, once removed revealing both bottles retaining their cut crystal stoppers.
Excellent condition, an heirloom must for the box collector. 4 3/4" x 3 1/8" x 3 7/8" tall.
