Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the Hoshiarpur region of Punjab during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these tables feature intricate brass wire and sheet inlay set into dark hardwoods like teak or rosewood, heavily influenced by Anglo-Indian design preferences.

Craftsmen typically utilised local hardwoods such as teak, shisham, or rosewood, combined with hand-cut brass sheet and wire inlay. The tops display geometric parquetry patterns, while the bases showcase hand-carved, pierced lattice panels known as jali work.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-chiselled grooves with flush-fitted metalwork, visible hand-carved joinery, and natural patination across the timber and brass. Octagonal bases with stylised lattice arches and folding mechanisms are characteristic of this regional trade.

An inlaid octagonal table functions effectively as an occasional side table beside upholstered armchairs or positioned within a reading corner. The rich timber tones and metal details add texture and historical contrast to contemporary rooms.

Clean the surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust without snagging the brass inlay. Avoid using liquid polishes or water, as moisture penetration can loosen delicate wire inlay and distort the surrounding timber.
