Description

An oak 17th-century Wainscot chair from Leeds. It has a carved central back panel with diagonal cross design, surrounded by bog oak and Holly parquetry inlay around the frame. It has a well carved top above the upper rectangular carved panel, downswept arms and well turned legs with stretchers. It has an old but possibly replaced later seat.

Photographed with another similar chair we have in images 8 and 9.

Last image is from the Regional Furniture magazine and shows a very similar chair that is in Townley Hall, Burnley.
