Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating during the Tang dynasty and perfected during the Qing dynasty, tea dust glaze (chawamo) is an opaque monochrome glaze featuring micro-crystalline speckles of yellow and green resulting from iron and magnesium silicates in the glaze mixture.

These vessels were wheel-thrown using fine porcelain or stoneware clay and coated in an iron-rich glaze before being fired in a reduction atmosphere at high temperatures to achieve the signature speckled finish.

Authentic examples feature micro-crystalline speckling rather than printed patterns, a smooth tactile surface, natural firing variations around the exposed unglazed footrim, and characteristic glaze pooling near the base.

Display the pair symmetrically on a console table, mantelpiece, or bookshelf to act as sculptural accents, allowing their earthy olive green tone to complement modern minimalist or classical decor schemes.

Dust gently with a soft microfibre cloth or dry brush, avoiding chemical solvents, abrasive pads, or full immersion in water which could damage historic glaze surfaces or unglazed clay bases.
